Week 3 Term 3
Room 16 had the opportunity to go down to the hall to practise our badminton skills this week. We were lucky to be able to go twice with an instructor and we have another two lessons next week. The children had lots of fun practising throwing the shuttlecock as well as balancing it on our racket and hitting it up in the air.

Week 5

We had an opportunity to share some of our great writing at junior assembly.
This week our writing goal has been to use different sentence starters to make our writing flow better and also be more interesting.

This term our inquiry has been on Function. We have spent some weeks looking at simple machines.
On Friday we had a look around the school to find inclined planes.
We also did some experiments to help explain and show force and gravity.
We had 3 hard boiled eggs, we dropped one straight down, one on a gradual inclined plane and one  on a steep inclined plane. We found the egg that we dropped straight down cracked more than the others. The one that cracked the least was the one dropped down the gradual inclined plane.

Week 2

We spent some time with our Buddy class on a sunny Friday morning.
Our Room 10 Buddies came to help us with our reading. Extra reading helps us become more fluent and learn to recognise our high frequency words quickly.

This week we have been focusing on the letters i, o, n, c.
We each made an octopus. We had lots of fun learning to concertina strips of paper to make 8 legs for our octopus. We even made a cat with a concertina tail.

Term 2

Welcome back to Term 2
Room 16 went outside to look at the Autumn leaves.
We wrote some wonderful stories about our Autumn walk.

I look at the Autumn leaves. Autumn leaves are yellow and red.
The Autumn day is windy. In Autumn the leaves fall on the ground.
The Autumn leaves are crunchy!
